The European Commission is committed to improve its web-based communication on
research and innovation by better serving the specific needs and interests of its target groups.

This implies a general re-organisation of the web-presence, which will be implemented
gradually throughout 2011 and 2012. Key web services for the 7th Framework Programme
are going to be redistributed between the three main portals in the following way:

- Research on Europa: publishes general information on the EU research policy, initiatives
and specific programmes and addresses the interested broad public.

- Participant Portal: is used for interactions with the participants of EU-funded research
and innovation projects; it also provides information on funding
opportunities.

- CORDIS: disseminates information on the EU-funded research projects, their
outcomes and their exploitation.

As part of the new division of services, from July 2011 the Participant Portal becomes the
unique and authoritative website for the publication of FP7 calls and the existing CORDIS
service is phased-out. CORDIS users are being redirected to the relevant pages of the FP7
calls section on the Participant Portal and are requested to update their bookmarks
accordingly. However we would also need to rely on you to spread the information as widely
as possible.

You will find below further details on the Participant Portal's call service.

The Participant Portal (http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal) has become the
European Commission's single authoritative website for the publication of FP7 calls. The
FP7 call-related information is no longer published on CORDIS. Users of the 'Find a call'
section on CORDIS are redirected to the relevant pages of the 'FP7 Calls' section of the
Participant Portal (http://ec.europa.eu/fp7calls) and are requested to update their bookmarks
accordingly.

Additional services such as RSS feeds, deep linking and e-mail notifications are also provided and users are requested to sign up for these services on the Participant Portal. For more information:

- on the RSS feed in the Participant Portal, please visit the 'Support' -'RSS' section, and
- on the e-mail notifications and deep linking functionalities, please read the Manual of the
Portal or the FAQ page.

For any technical problems the eFP7 Service desk can be contacted (DIGIT-EFP7-
SUPPORT@ec.europa.eu).
